【外语相关岗位】
1. Teaching Assistant – English
Post Specifications
Applicant should have (i) a Master’s degree in English; (ii) good communication skills; (iii) fluent English, both in writing and speaking;(iv) the ability to work independently; (v) strong team work spirit; (vi) excellent IT skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,PowerPoint, Outlook email); and (vii) the zeal to take up extra responsibilities. Applicants with teaching experience and/or experience in academic administration will be preferred.

Duties include (a) assisting teachers in preparing teaching materials; (b) offering consultation to students; (c) coordinating student academic activities; (d) offering assistance in exam-related matters;(e) grading assignments (when required); (f) giving tutorials (when required);(g) offering help to new staff to settle in; and (h) undertaking other workassigned by the supervisor.
The appointee is expected to commence workon July 1st 2017, in preparation for the start of teaching in September 2017.

2. Teaching Assistant - Translation/ Interpreting (BA Programme)
Post Specification
Applicants should have (i) a higher degree, at least at MAlevel or above, in translation and interpreting, conference interpreting orrelated fields from top universities (experience in translation and/ or interpreting would be a plus); (ii) good teaching and communication skills;(iii) proficient English skills in listening, writing and speaking; (iv) the ability to handle stress and details, and work independently as well as in ateam; (v) excellent computer and analytical skills; and (vi) willingness totake up extra responsibilities.

Duties include (a) leading and assisting in tutorials forunder graduate courses; (b) conducting student to consultation and coordinating student academic activities; (c) preparing teaching materials; (d) undertaking other assignment assigned by the Programme Coordinator.
The appointee is expected to commence workon July 1st 2017, in preparation for the start of teaching in September 2017.

Post Specification
The School of Humanities and Social Scienceat CUHK (SZ) invites applications for faculty positions in translation and interpreting studies and/or simultaneous Interpreting at the SeniorLecturer/ Lecturer/ Assistant Lecturer levels.
Applicants should have (i) a higher degree,at least at MPhil level or above, in translation and interpreting studies and/ or simultaneous Interpreting;and (ii) proven record of teaching excellence, and relevant experience in teaching training courses at postgraduate level.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) teaching courses as prescribed in the programme curricular; (b) designing e-learning materials; and (c) assisting in curriculum development and administrative assignments.
The appointee is expected to commence work in the academic year of 2017-18.

5. Professor/ Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor -Translation/ Interpreting
Post Specification
The School of Humanities and Social Scienceat CUHK (SZ) invites applications for faculty positions in translation andinterpreting studies and/or simultaneous Interpreting at the Professor/ Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor levels with prospect for tenure.
Junior applicants should have (i) a PhD degree (by the time of reporting duty) in translation and interpreting studies and/ or simultaneous Interpreting; and (ii) high potential in teaching and research.
Applicants should be able to teach a wide range of courses, especially in core areas of translation, consecutive interpreting and/or simultaneous interpreting. Experience in supervising postgraduate students will be favorably considered.
Candidates for Associate and Full Professor posts are expected to have demonstrated academic leadership and strong commitment to the highest standard of excellence. Appointments will normally bemade on contract basis for up to three years initially, leading to longer-term appointment or tenure later subject to mutual agreement. Exceptionally, appointment with tenure can be offered forth with to candidates of provenability.
The appointee is expected to commence work in the academic year of 2017-18.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
Salary will be competitive, commensurate with experience and academic accomplishments. Appointments will be made under the establishment of CUHK(SZ) and statutory benefits will be provided according to the prevailing labor laws applicable to the PRC. The appointee will be based in Shenzhen, China.
